DESCRIPTION:This is a nice route that takes you through Cresco\, Harmony and Preston before a stretch on the Root River Trail through Lanesboro and Rushford. The run on the Root River Trail is a nice respite between the climbing before Preston and after Lanesboro. The control in Preston is the grocery store (Preston Foods) but there’s a nice little sandwich shop nearby (The Sweet Stop) that does made to order sandwiches and is a good alternate. DESCRIPTION:This route takes you over to Wisconsin via Lansing with some fairly stiff climbs between there and Viroqua. Then a nice run along the Kickapoo river toward Liberty then some climbing up to the ridge tops before descending to Sylvan and a nice flat run to Boscobel. A couple of climbs take you to Prairie du Chien where you’ll cross the Mississippi and navigate the inevitable climb away from the river before heading to Elkader and then returning to West Union. \n252.5 miles\, 12\,071 feet of climb\, ACP certified. DESCRIPTION:This route takes you over rolling hills and quiet roads to Ridgeway where you’ll get on the Prairie Farmer recreational trail which will take you to the first control in Cresco. From there you’ll do an out and back to Harmony\, MN and then head to Decorah. The control at Decorah is the Kwik Trip but there are several other fast food establishments there and you can visit any of them. \nLeaving Decorah you’ll be facing a couple of pretty stiff climbs on your way to Ossian before returning to West Union. \nThe route has over 5 thousand feet of climbing including some extended climbs and will have you wondering where the flat part of Iowa is! \nRidewithgps route here \nTo register for this event complete the registration form below.
