SUMMARY:"Mixed Media Mayhem 100K"
DESCRIPTION:  \nThis is the first of the four rides needed for the RUSA Rouleur award. We offered this route for the first time in 2022 and those of us that rode it really enjoyed the mix of pavement and gravel. \nCompletion of this ride will count for the RUSA Rouleur award AND you’ll get credit for 36K of gravel – how cool is that? \nWe’re going to follow the same format as 2022 with a twist – we’ll start later than normal (10:00) so you can drive to the start on the morning of the ride but the “day 2” ride will be out of Le Claire and will start at 08:00 so you can head home after the ride. \nAfter the ride we’ll have an informal and completely optional gathering for dinner and beverages (location to be argued over during the ride!) where we can review the days activities (also known as “talk about how great we are”) and discuss the next days ride. \nThe route will start and finish in Stockton\, Il. This is a relatively easy gravel route but 28mm tires or greater are recommended for easier negotiation of the gravel sections. Roughly 23% of the route is on gravel including some gravelly climbs so we’ll get the full experience. We’ll be using the RUSA “gravel timer” to account for the somewhat slower pace on the gravel segments. \nThere are ample stops to refuel and refresh water bottles along the route. \nThe ridewithgps route is here. \nThis is going to be a fun weekend of riding and you won’t want to miss it! \nTo register for this event complete the registration form below. You’ll receive a confirmation email which will contain a link to complete a waiver electronically and a PayPal link to pay for the ride. Note that there will be no day of ride registration – advance registration is mandatory! \nYour registration is not complete until your completed waiver and PayPal payment is received. \nImportant note: If you register and don’t receive an email confirmation check your spam folder! If you find the confirmation there\, right click on it in your mail program and select “not spam” (your mailer might use different words but you get the idea) which will move it to your inbox. SUMMARY:"Mixed Media Mayhem" Dart Populaire
DESCRIPTION:This is the second ride in our “Mixed Media Rouleur series” and is a team event. Teams consist of a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 riders and at least 3 must finish in order to receive credit. The complete rules can be found here. \nWe’ve developed two routes for this event since if we have more than one team the second team would have to wait an hour before starting. This way we can have 10 riders (2 teams) before having to alternate start times. \nAs we did in 2022 we’re going to start early so those that came from afar for the ride can get home at a reasonable time. \nHere are the routes: \nLe Claire route: 79.2 miles\, 2\,197 feet of climbing\, 32.3 miles of gravel (41%)\, 46.9 miles paved (59%) \nLe Claire route reverse: 79.2 miles\, 2\,197 feet of climbing\, 32.3 miles of gravel (41%)\, 46.9 miles paved (59%) \nTo register for this event complete the registration form below. SUMMARY:Ottawa Rouleur 150K
DESCRIPTION:The second leg of the rouleur series. Here are the details: \nStarting in Ottawa IL\, you’ll share the first 31 miles of this route with the 300k riders. After that\, you’ll head west to the river town of Marseilles (they pronounce it Mar-sales) and then onward to an iconic Illinois cycling road\, the winding/climby road through Starved Rock State Park made famous by the Starved Rock Classic road race and countless bike tours. The hills are short but a few are 11-12%. Just after the Control at the Starved Rock Lodge\, an optional stop at the Visitors center/museum (also has food/water) has great info about the history of the area. Then you’ll cross the river on the bike path on the newly reconstructed Hwy 178 bridge\, then back east to Ottawa to visit the site of the Lincoln-Douglas debates just before the finish. This route is also a RUSA permanent (5012)\, but with start/finish in Morris. This ride is a RUSA 151k Populaire\, and satisfies the Rouleur Award requirement of a 150-199 km populaire. \nRUSA sanctioned\, 150 Km\, 2\,859 feet of climbing\, ridewithgps route here\nBrevet card here \n\nRegistration closed \nNote that there will be no day of ride registration – advance registration is mandatory! \nYour registration is not complete until your completed waiver and PayPal payment is received. \nCurrently RegisteredHollie Long Randy Anderson Luis Esparza Doug McLerran

SUMMARY:Early Season 300K
DESCRIPTION:A nice early season route courtesy of Doug McLerran. Enough climbing to make progress on your early season fitness but not so much that you won’t enjoy the ride! \nStarting in Ottawa IL\, you’ll share the first 31 miles of this route with the 151k riders. After that\, you’ll head south to the towns of Dwight and Odell\, where you’ll see both the original (1926-46) and the “modern” (1946-1978) alignments of Route 66. The open Control in Odell has both a convenience store and a good café if you’d like a sit-down meal (café is closed from 2-4pm). The wind turbines will provide a reminder that although this area is relatively flat\, wind can be a factor\, so riding with others in a paceline will save you a considerable amount of energy. You’ll then begin to notice more hills and trees as you head northwest to Granville\, then as you head back east thru Tonica\, there is a Caseys that is not a Control\, but is a recommended stop since it’s the last convenient place for food/water before arriving back in Ottawa 40 miles later. After Tonica\, you’ll ride toward Leonore then on County 5 for 3 miles to cross the Vermillion river\, since the preferred crossing into Farm Ridge is being rebuilt. Then north to rejoin the route taken by the 150k riders – an iconic Illinois cycling road\, the winding/climby road through Starved Rock State Park made famous by the Starved Rock Classic road race and countless bike tours. The hills are short but a few are 11-12%. The Starved Rock Lodge/restaurant at mile 170 is a Control but closes 9pm (after that take a photo) Then you’ll cross the river on the bike path on the newly reconstructed Hwy 178 bridge\, then back east to Ottawa to visit the site of the Lincoln-Douglas debates just before the finish. This ride is an ACP 300k Brevet and counts toward ACP awards such as the ACP Super Randonneur. \nHere are the details: \nACP sanctioned\, 303K\, 4\,000 feet of climbing\, ridewithgps route here\nBrevet card here \n\nRegistration closed. \nNote that there will be no day of ride registration – advance registration is mandatory! \nYour registration is not complete until your completed waiver and PayPal payment is received. \nCurrently RegisteredLena Chon Forrest Miller Randy Anderson Chuck Judy Jinwoo Oh Doug McLerran

SUMMARY:Making for Maquoketa 200K
DESCRIPTION:Another nice early season ride. We’ve done this one several times and one of the things that’s in its favor (beside the fact that it’s a nice route) is that it’s a loop so even if the early season winds are blowing you’re going to have a tailwind somewhere! \nHere are the details: \nACP sanctioned\, 209K\, 5\,180 feet of climbing (just short of a mile!)\nThe ridewithgps route is here\nThe brevet card is here \n \nRegistration closed. \nYour registration is not complete until your completed waiver and PayPal payment is received. \nCurrently RegisteredRandy Anderson \nIf you’ve registered and want to cancel\, please go to this page to cancel

SUMMARY:Point me to Peosta 300K
DESCRIPTION:Ramping up the miles with our 300K up to Peosta. \nThis route is a small variation on the old “Eldridge North 300K” route. It eliminates most of the stretch along the river on US-52 into Bellevue. Although I always enjoyed riding that stretch when there weren’t any cars\, that was seldom the case on nice Saturdays when the road would be filled with cars\, motorcycles\, etc.\, sharing the narrow\, no-shoulder two lane. The route still does go through Bellevue for a short stop before pushing on North to Peosta. I’ve ridden it several times and always enjoyed the route. \nThis is a tough route! Don’t let the “easy” 43 feet per mile fool you – there are a couple of pretty stiff climbs and a lot of 4-6% and it takes its toll. Just hope the wind is working for you! \nHere are the details: \nACP sanctioned\, 192.5 miles\, 8\,312 feet of climbing. \nRidewithgps route here \n\nRegistration closed. \nYour registration is not complete until your completed waiver and PayPal payment is received. \nCurrently RegisteredWayne Hanno Randy Anderson \nIf you’ve registered and want to cancel\, please go to this page to cancel

SUMMARY:The 3M 600K
DESCRIPTION:This was a new route for 2023 and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. What are the 3 M’s in the moniker? Some of the towns you’ll pass through enroute to completing a successful 600K: Monticello\, Maquoketa and Mechanicsville. \nThis new 600K route combines two routes we’ve used in the past: the Meander to Manchester 400K and the Eldridge West 200K with changes needed to make the distance work for a 600K. The first day is somewhat shorter than the “first day 400K” standard and the second day is longer as a result. \nThe first day is identical to the 400K route for the first 60 or so miles so 400K/600K riders can roll out together and have company for a while. \nHere are the details: \nFull route: 379.8 miles\, 13\,820 feet of climbing\, ridewithgps route here\nDay one: 221.2 miles\, 8\,711 feet of climbing\, ridewithgps route here\nDay two: 158.4 miles\, 5\,555 feet of climbing\, ridewithgps route here \n\nRegistration for this event is closed. \nCurrently RegisteredRandy Anderson \nIf you’ve registered and want to cancel\, please go to this page to cancel

SUMMARY:Eldridge West 200K
DESCRIPTION:We did this route for the first time in 2021 and keep going back! Why? Several reasons: \n\n\n\nIt’s a loop route so even on a windy day you’re going to have a tailwind for part of the ride\nIt has a fair amount of climbing with a few leg testers but is still mostly rolling hills so it’s a great early season route\nControls and stores are pretty evenly placed through the route so you can stock up or stop as needed\n\n\n\nHere are the details: ACP sanctioned\, 124.3 miles\, 4\,277 feet of climbing (34.4 feet/mile)\, ridewithgps route here \n\nRegistration for this event is closed.\n\n Currently Registered\n Nobody registered \n \n \nIf you’ve registered and want to cancel\, please go to this page to cancel

SUMMARY:Strade Bianche Rouleur Challenge – Dart Populaire
DESCRIPTION:We celebrate the history of our sport by riding the “white roads” in Northeastern Iowa. Completion of this ride will count for the RUSA Rouleur award and pick up some Gravel K’s! \nThis is the first ride in our “Strade Bianche Rouleur Challenge” and is a team event. Teams consist of a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 riders and at least 3 must finish in order to receive credit. More details here. \nWe’ve developed two routes for this event since if we have more than one team the second team would have to wait an hour before starting. This way we can have 10 riders (2 teams) before having to alternate start times. \nWe’ll start later than normal so you can drive to the start on the morning of the ride. After the ride we’ll have an informal gathering for dinner and beverages where we can review the days activities (also known as “talk about how great we are”) and discuss the next days ride. \nThis is going to be a fun weekend of riding and you won’t want to miss it! \nHere are the routes: \nLe Claire route: 79.2 miles\, 2\,197 feet of climbing\, 32.3 miles of gravel (41%)\, 46.9 miles paved (59%) \nEldridge route: 83.5 miles\, 2\,961 feet of climbing\, 24.5 miles of gravel (29%)\, 59 miles paved (71%) \nTo register for this event: \n\n\n\nClick on the link below to complete a waiver.\nAfter completing the waiver you’ll be taken to PayPal (note that a PayPal account is not required)\n\n\n\nRegister \nNote that there will be no day of ride registration – advance registration is mandatory! \nYour registration is not complete until your completed waiver and PayPal payment is received. \nCurrently RegisteredWill Anderson Greg Smith Eric Peterson Randy Anderson \nIf you’ve registered and want to cancel\, please go to this page to cancel

SUMMARY:Strade Bianche Rouleur Challenge - Stockton 100K
DESCRIPTION:We celebrate the history of our sport by riding the “white roads” in Northwestern Illinois. Completion of this ride will count for the RUSA Rouleur award and pick up some Gravel K’s! \nThis is the second weekend of our “Strade Bianche Rouleur Challenge”. \nWe’ll start later than normal so you can drive to the start on the morning of the ride. After the ride we’ll have an informal gathering for dinner and beverages where we can review the days activities (also known as “talk about how great we are”) and discuss the next days ride. \nThere are ample stops to refuel and refresh water bottles along the route including an optional stop at the Pecatonia Tap House in Warren if you’re so inclined. \nThe ridewithgps route is here. \nThis is going to be a fun weekend of riding and you won’t want to miss it! \nTo register for this event: \n\n\n\nClick on the link below to complete a waiver.\nAfter completing the waiver you’ll be taken to PayPal (note that a PayPal account is not required)\n\n\n\nRegister \nNote that there will be no day of ride registration – advance registration is mandatory! \nYour registration is not complete until your completed waiver and PayPal payment is received. \nCurrently RegisteredKajal Joshi Greg Smith Samuel Weitekamp Randy Anderson Eric Peterson Michael Geuss Kelli Brannen \nIf you’ve registered and want to cancel\, please go to this page to cancel
